Yum Cha Restaurant's Kiasi Baos Fight For Migrant Workers

You must be familiar with those cute character buns sold in pasar malams and pop-up food kiosks; but buns wearing masks? This must be a first. Can't say we saw this coming.

But before we go and criticise these buns, let's put it out there that I personally enjoy Yum Cha Restaurant's dim sum and steamed buns, so the Kiasi Baos should be good. On top of that, the sheer comedic effect of these cute fluffy puffs makes for a great conversation starter, in real life or on social media.

Helping our migrant friends

These buns are not just for show, though. The brains behind these cowardly buns is Yum Cha Restaurant, which has been dishing up amazing Chinese dim sum and food for two decades.

Through Kiasi Baos, the restaurant has collaborated with Covid-19 Migrant Support Coalition (CMSC) and pledged all proceeds to further the cause of this charity organisation. This means that the money will go into providing basic necessities to migrant workers living in dormitories across Singapore.

And we all know how badly this pandemic has struck these workers, so kudos to y'all!
